The SpEd community absolutely needs you.  We need you for this platform, this tool, to be successful.  A complete list of business, tools and professionals that specialize in the world of special needs does not exist….. until now.

Businesses

A list of businesses specific to special needs in your community. Don’t see what you’re looking for, once you find it, add it to our site by clicking “add listing” located in the right-hand corner of each page.

The business icon is a listing of business that specialize in or align themselves in some way to the special needs community. I’m sure that you would agree that it would be something incredible to have a complete list of special needs professionals and businesses.  Unfortunately, it just doesn’t exist….. and we are changing that.

Search- there are 3 different locations that take you to search for what kind of professional or business that you are interested in. You can also search by location, highest rated, etc. You can search without signing in or creating a user ID.

  1. Click here: Sign in
  2. By signing in you have access to make changes to the platform by leaving reviews, posting, or adding a recipe, marketplace or business listing.

A. To add in a business, you will click on the green “add listing” button. Choose the “business”, “marketplace”, or “recipe” button. Then sign in or create an account. Next click on the “choose available package” button. Lastly, follow the prompts to add in the new business listing.

B. THE WHY: We are the only company that is assembling a complete list of rated resources absolutely free of charge. But in order for this list to be succinct, we need you to add any professional, business, resource, tools that have been a help to you. If everyone does a little, we can make a lot happen.

SpEd Advisors will reach out to the newly added business to have them ‘claim’ their listing and finish completing the enrollment.  It is important that you add as much info as you can. ****TIP**** grab a business card of the business/professional and that will give you a large amount of information to get

    started.

Yes, by enrolling, you will help families and friends locate your business so they can rate you and by rating you, it will help drive more business to you. Know that the rating system is provided strictly by your customers, without our input.  The only time that we will intervene is if a customer writes something that we wouldn’t want our mother to read.

This is the critical piece that strengthens us and our community. We know that each of you have something to contribute to this community based upon your individual experience.  The data is clear, by join this community and actively participating, we are better together, stronger together and always connected together.  By giving an honest review, you become one of our ADVISORS that can help steer others towards or away from utilizing the best of the best in their field.  It will also inspire others with a poor SpEd rating to either increase their efficacy or seek another profession.

Marketplace

A list of new and used items related to special needs.

We know that many of us have spent a lot of money, I mean a lot of money, trying this device, tool or item only to later wonder what to do with it once we are finished with it. The plan then is to either throw it out, sell it or donate it?  Maybe, these are good ideas however the problem is that you only know people in your immediate area and if you donate the item, it may or may not go to someone that can actually use it.  We have a better idea.  The marketplace is a place where you can either sell or donate your items to literally anyone in the world.  We at SpEd Advisors take nothing from the sale or donation so if you sold or bought an item for $10…. It is $10.  Shipping and handling is done by the seller, we just are the middleman that males the interduction.

Seller - login and post a description of the item, whether new or used, the price and the vicinity of where you are located. Don’t forget to upload a picture(s) so the future owner can see the items.

Buyer - you can search without logging in until you find what you are looking for. Once you identified your treasure, simply login and make contact.

Recipes

Recipes provided by you to help with various needs, impairments, and struggles. Post them here to share with your community.

We know that there are special diets that really work, really maximize cognitive progression and that we swear by.  Those are the ones that we would love to share with other members of our community.

.

Add recipe- login and fill in the questions about what the recipe entails. This is intuitive, so very easy to do.  Don’t forget to add a picture or two so the rest of us can see the beautiful food through your eyes.

Search recipe- no need to login in, just search based upon the different criteria that you select. This way you can really narrow down what you are looking for.  SpEd Advisors cannot guarantee that the recipe is authentic or true to advertise.

This is critical in that you can help the community know what you thought of the particular recipe and if it was true to advertisement.

Forum

Free instructional techniques provided by experts and support personnel for specific topics related to your needs. (reading interventions, special needs trusts for your child, social skills training, sensory supports, etc.)

Blog

Miscellaneous

Under business you may or may not see a small, green rectangle that has a stick man and says “SpEd”.  If it’s there, it will be to the right of the star ratings.   The presence of this icon signifies that that particular business/ professional listing is advertising themselves as being SpEd focused.  It does not guarantee their quality of service or increase their ratings.  Many times, a business/ profession does not specialize in the SpEd community but are as good as them come.
